Dear CSCI-316 Students, I have completed the setup mentioned in my previous email: So you should now be able to submit TinyJ Assignment 1 (or any other assignment) on the new mars by following the submission instructions given in the assignment document. The paragraph on p. 3 of the 1st-day-announcements document that begins with "If when I compute a student’s course grade" explains how you can check whether an assignment has been submitted and (if so) its submission date and time. To prevent the "REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED!" error that is mentioned on page 5 of the 1st-day-announcements document, enter the command ssh-keygen -R mars.cs.qc.cuny.edu before you enter the command ssh your_username@mars.cs.qc.cuny.edu the first time you connect to the new mars in a powershell/terminal window on your PC/Mac. For the purposes of this course, you should be able to use the new mars machine in the same ways as you used the old mars. ============================== T. Yung Kong, D.Phil.
