Re: Reading & Exercises To Do
Dear CSCI-316 Students,
TinyJ Assignment 1 is now available to you on Brightspace. This assignment assumes students know about parse trees and EBNF: That is an important reason why my previous message (sent yesterday) asked you to aim to do the work assigned in the Syntax-Reading-and-Exercises-B document before our class meeting on Wednesday of next week (11/26).
Installation Steps
You need to do installation steps 1 and 2 on p. 2 of the TinyJ Assignment 1 document. If you are interested in the possibility of doing the assignment on your PC or Mac (even though you must submit on mars), also do steps 3-8 on p. 3.
You should DO STEPS 1 and 2 before next Monday’s class; if for some reason you are not able to do that, then do steps 1 and 2 before our class on Wednesday of next week (November 26): If you see any error message after doing step 1 or step 2, be sure to let me know NO LATER THAN Wednesday of next week!

When discussing TinyJ Assignment 1 in class I plan to refer to the following PDF document:
This is available to you on Brightspace.
Exam Scores
Re exam scores: Your scores will probably be available to you by Wednesday of next week (11/26) if not sooner: When the scores are available, you will receive an email that tells you how to look up your exam score on mars and also tells you the times when students can come to my office to see their graded exams if they wish to do that. Note that you will not be able to look up your exam score on mars unless you can login to your xxxxx_yyyy316 mars account.
See you in class tomorrow.
